Fancy is a gentle giant – standing tall with gracefully flowing hair and all black. A horse like Fancy is the subject of many little girl’s dreams. Oh, to just rub her and see her black coat glisten! She stands erect as if she is confident of her beauty. But as you get closer, you realize she is missing one eye – she was kicked by another horse and the doctors could not save the eye. Fancy demonstrates that her beauty is simply in who she is – in who God made her to be on the inside.
The Horses
Horses are powerful and effective in helping people, whether child, youth, or adult. They have much to teach us about our patterns of behavior, communication and relationships. Horses are excellent “teachers”, coupled with trained facilitators certified in personal and social development, interaction with horses can often provide invaluable assistance in addressing challenging life issues in a fun, action-oriented, non-threatening learning environment. We invite you to meet the Returning Glory horses. Each of our horses have their own unique journey and stories, and offer many challenging teachings.

Rapha
As a precious little filly, Rapha was donated to Returning Glory. Those at Returning Glory named her Rapha, which means “healer”. She has grown up with more attention that most and expects it! She loves running in the pasture and kicking up her ‘heals’ with the big girls – usually too much for them – but when the little children are around she quiets down – to help them be OK. Because of surgery at a very young age, she may never grow as expected – but God knew that. Rapha will be the perfect size, in all her gracious beauty, for healing those little wounded ones that will so desperately need her unconditional love.
Destiny
Destiny is a foal of Topaz. Brought up in the Returning Glory world, she loves attention and makes sure she gets it. Very inquisitive and confident, she tries to push her way into the midst of everything – just to check their reaction to her disrespectful behavior – “will I get by with it?” Destiny continues her training and will soon become a ‘teacher’ to those whom God brings to her.
Topaz
Topaz had been initially trained by one of the best, then allowed a quiet life in the pasture as a brood mare. She was discovered by someone wanting to purchase a horse for Returning Glory. As they walked the pasture observing those horses, Topaz gently walked up to them and just lowered her head for attention – she had won their heart. This quiet mare now enjoys grooming by all, and with her large brown quiet eyes, she helps them feel loved.
