RoundPen

When we, as humans, work with horses in the round pen, we can begin to earn the trusted place of leadership with the horse and help them to respond to difficult situations rather than react. As we interact with the horse (a prey animal) in the round pen with the use of appropriate horsemanship skills, we can become aware of our own human “predator’ ways. Numerous life skills can be taught while working with the horse, such as combining peripheral awareness with focus, establishing personal boundaries while also respecting another’s space, developing patience through challenging each thought, establishing consistency in our words and actions, and expressing compassion for others’ needs. We then have the opportunity to learn how to respond to our own challenges rather than react. The RoundPen activities involve experiencing the relational needs between human and horse, and then developing these skills for your personal life challenges.
